Coyote finished cleaning his daughter's apartment so she could get her security deposit back. His son had been sharing the vacated apartment with his dad the past few days.
The kids moved from North Hollywood where Coyote had been "staying with them" by sleeping in his truck under their building or outside on the street for over a year.
When Coyote sung this song about having nowhere to go, he didn't realize he was repeating the scene from two years ago that inspired this song. Coyote gets choked up in the last verse... and teary eyed. He's making pucker faces to keep his lips from twitching.
